The Two Captains

LOGBOOK

April 9, 2001
Equator

The Two Captains crossed the Equator one minute past noon on April 9, 2001 at longitude 081 degrees 35.01 minutes West. The overcast skies broke and completely cleared in time for the big moment, which we celebrated with a frosty bottle of Concha Y Toro Champagne and some smoked salmon canapes! There was even a certificate of crossing, as provided for the occasion one of King Neptune's ambassadors. It says we are now "True Tars." The coastal mountains of Ecuador are becoming distinct off the port side, and we expect to arrive at Bahia Caraquez just about sunset.
